On October 17, 2015, the Fort Monroe Foundation (FMF) hosted “Lafayette Returns! A Living History Reenactment Dinner.”
Developed by the Casemate Museum team and hosted by the FMF at the Chamberlin, the sold-out fundraiser dinner commemorated the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1824 visit to Fort Monroe. The evening featured a historically inspired five-course menu and a program of scholars, musicians, and period interpreters. Over 150 guests from 13 different states attended Lafayette Returns! The FMF is grateful to the many generous individuals who made the evening a success. In particular, the FMF would like to thank Board Member Colin Campbell for providing opening remarks, the entire staff of the Chamberlin, Executive Chef David Payne, and the American Friends of Lafayette (AFL), for their strong support and promotion of the event.
